Every child wants to do things on their own.

Button their shirt. Hold a pencil. Sit still in class. Join in with friends at play. These everyday tasks feel effortless to most children — but for some, they are genuinely hard. Not because the child isn’t trying. But because their nervous system needs a little support to catch up.

At Vyana by Alpine, our Occupational Therapy programme in Greater Noida is built around one belief: every child has the potential to be independent. Our RCI-registered occupational therapists work with children aged 2.5 years onwards — helping them develop the physical, sensory and cognitive skills they need to thrive at school, at home, and in life.

What Is Occupational Therapy for Children?

Occupational therapy — or OT — helps children develop the skills needed to perform everyday activities, or “occupations.” For a child, those occupations are things like writing, getting dressed, eating, playing with others, and participating in the classroom.

A paediatric occupational therapist assesses where a child is struggling, identifies the underlying reason — whether it is a motor, sensory, cognitive or behavioural challenge — and then designs a structured, engaging programme to build those skills step by step.

OT is not about fixing a child. It is about equipping them with the tools to do what they want and need to do — more easily, more confidently, and more independently.

Signs Your Child May Benefit from Occupational Therapy

Parents often notice something is off before anyone else does. Here are signs that an OT assessment may help your child:

✅ Struggles to hold a pencil correctly or has very messy handwriting

✅ Finds it hard to button clothes, tie shoelaces or use a spoon

✅ Is overly sensitive — or under-sensitive — to touch, sound, light or textures

✅ Gets easily distracted or cannot sit still during structured activities

✅ Avoids physical activities, playgrounds or play with other children

✅ Has poor balance or seems unusually clumsy compared to peers

✅ Becomes very upset with changes in routine or transitions between activities

✅ Has difficulty with self-care — brushing teeth, washing hands, getting dressed

✅ Struggles to focus on tasks that require concentration

✅ Your child’s teacher has raised concerns about classroom participation or fine motor skills

If any of these resonate, an occupational therapy assessment is a smart first step. Our therapists will give you a clear picture of where your child is, and exactly what support can help.

How Occupational Therapy Works at Vyana

We follow a structured, evidence-based process — but we deliver it in a way that feels like play to your child.

  • Step 1 — Comprehensive OT Assessment
Our therapist observes your child across multiple skill areas — fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, self-care and attention. We speak with parents and, where relevant, with teachers, to get the full picture. The assessment results in a clear, written report of your child’s strengths and areas for support.
  • Step 2 — Goal-Based Therapy Plan
We set specific, measurable goals with you — the parent — so you always know what we are working towards and why. Goals are reviewed regularly and adjusted as your child progresses.
  • Step 3 — Individualised Therapy Sessions
Each session uses purposeful play, sensory activities, fine motor exercises and real-life task practice. Our therapy room is equipped with specialist tools — sensory swings, weighted materials, fine motor kits, balance equipment and more. Children do not feel like they are in therapy. They feel like they are having fun.
  • Step 4 — School Integration
Vyana sits within the Alpine First Step campus. This means our OT can observe your child in the actual classroom environment, coordinate with class teachers, and ensure that therapy goals are reinforced throughout the school day — not just during sessions.
  • Step 5 — Home Programme & Parent Guidance
Progress accelerates when parents are involved. We provide you with a simple home activity programme and guidance on how to support your child’s development between sessions, during meals, dressing, play and homework time.

Why Choose Vyana by Alpine for Occupational Therapy in Greater Noida?

There are OT clinics in Greater Noida. What makes Vyana different is where we sit — and how we work.

🏫 School-Embedded Therapy
Our therapy room is within a real preschool and early childhood campus. Children practise skills in the same environment where they need to use them — classrooms, corridors, playgrounds. This real-world context accelerates progress dramatically compared to a standalone clinic.

🎓 RCI-Registered Therapists
Every occupational therapist at Vyana is registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India and brings specialised paediatric experience. You can trust that your child is in expert hands.

🤝 Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Our OT works alongside speech therapists and special educators. When a child has overlapping needs — as many do — a coordinated team approach delivers far better outcomes than isolated therapy.

🧸 Fully Equipped Sensory & Motor Therapy Room
Our therapy space is purpose-built for children — with sensory integration equipment, fine motor tools, a sandpit, movement stations and calming spaces. It is a place children genuinely enjoy being in.

📋 Detailed Assessment Reports
We provide comprehensive written reports for schools — accepted by CBSE, IB and ICSE institutions — for use in academic accommodations, IEP planning and admission processes.

🌍 Open to All Children
Vyana is not just for Alpine First Step students. Any child in Greater Noida or the wider Delhi-NCR area aged 2 years onwards can access our occupational therapy services.

FAQ – Additional Support Program

What exactly does an occupational therapist do for a child?

A paediatric occupational therapist helps children develop the skills they need to participate in everyday activities — at school, at home and during play. This includes fine motor skills, sensory processing, attention, self-care and social participation. The therapist assesses where the child is struggling, identifies the root cause, and creates a personalised programme to build those skills.

How is occupational therapy different from physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy focuses primarily on movement, strength and physical rehabilitation — often after injury or illness. Occupational therapy focuses on functional skills and independence — helping a child perform everyday tasks like writing, dressing and participating in school. Both can be beneficial, and at Vyana, our OT works in coordination with all members of the child’s support team.

My child's handwriting is very poor. Can OT help?

Yes, this is one of the most common reasons parents come to us. Poor handwriting is often linked to weak fine motor skills, poor pencil grip, low muscle tone in the hand, or visual-motor integration difficulties. Our OT assesses the underlying cause and works on it directly — with results that are measurable and visible within weeks.

Does my child need a doctor's referral to start occupational therapy?

No referral is required to book an initial assessment at Vyana by Alpine. You can contact us directly and our team will guide you through the process.

How many sessions will my child need?

This depends on your child’s specific challenges and goals. Some children make significant progress within 12 to 16 sessions. Others with more complex needs benefit from longer-term support. After the initial assessment, our therapist will give you a realistic expectation and a structured plan.

At what age should a child start occupational therapy?

The earlier, the better. Children’s brains are most adaptable in the early years, which means early intervention produces the fastest and most lasting results. We work with children from 2.years. If you have a concern, do not wait — book an assessment and let our therapist guide you.

Can OT help children with ADHD or autism?

Yes. Occupational therapy is highly effective for children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related conditions. We address sensory sensitivities, attention and focus, fine motor challenges, self-regulation and daily living skills — all of which are commonly affected in these children.
